I was at home church tonight, and we had the opportunity in worship to sit and dwell on Psalm 46:10. I guess this was the result of that. I hate that I allow myself to get too busy to sit and bask in the presence of God.
Lord, You come to me in a whisper,
leaning near my ear, "Be still and know that I am God."
And, in a shaky voice I reply, "God, You know me. I have a hard time being still."
And, He replied, "Be still and know that I am God."
And again, I replied, "God, I'm sorry, but I don't know how to be still."
And, He replied, "Be still and know that I am God."
"Lord," I pleaded, "I can't do that. Help me."
And He stilled and quieted my soul.
My entire being sat in awe of Him.
And I knew that He was God.
